Who we are

Upstate Medicare is the assumed name of UNY Financial LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how information submitted through this website is collected, used, disclosed, and retained.

Information you choose to provide

When you submit a Get Help, Contact, Careers, live-chat, or similar request, we collect the information you choose to provide. Depending on the feature, this may include your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, selected topics, message, preferred contact method, licensing status, and the consent acknowledgment displayed with the request.

Live chat may retain the conversation text, optional contact information, the page where the conversation started, timestamps, and limited security information needed to prevent abuse and maintain the conversation. Do not use live chat to send Social Security numbers, Medicare ID or MBI numbers, detailed medical records, banking information, payment information, or other sensitive identifiers.

If you communicate with us by phone, text, email, chat, or in person, we may retain the contents of that communication and information needed to respond, document your request, and provide ongoing service.

Technical information and analytics

Our website-hosting, database, security, email-delivery, messaging, and analytics providers may automatically receive limited technical information needed to operate, protect, and measure the website, such as an IP address, approximate location, browser or device type, requested page, date and time, referring page, and diagnostic or security events.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand website traffic and general interactions such as page views, scroll depth, outbound-link clicks, site-search activity, video engagement, file downloads, chat opens, and whether a conversation was started. Automatic form-interaction measurement is disabled. We configure advertising storage, ad personalization, and Google Signals off for this website analytics implementation.

We do not intentionally send form-field contents, chat-message contents, names, phone numbers, email addresses, Social Security numbers, Medicare ID or MBI numbers, detailed medical information, banking information, or other sensitive information to Google Analytics. Do not place sensitive information in URLs or free-text fields unless specifically requested through an approved secure process.

You can limit or block analytics cookies and similar technologies through your browser or device settings. Blocking analytics technologies may reduce the accuracy of aggregate website reporting but should not prevent you from reading public website content.

How we use information

We use information to respond to requests, provide live-chat support, schedule or provide the requested conversation, communicate about Medicare insurance options or an agency opportunity when applicable, maintain service records, improve website operation, understand aggregate website usage, detect misuse, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, and protect our rights and users.

Calls, texts, email, and chat alerts

When a form includes a contact-consent checkbox, the consent language shown with that form controls the requested communications. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of marketing texts by replying STOP, request that calls stop during a call, or unsubscribe using any available email instruction. We may still send non-marketing communications needed to respond to or service an existing request or relationship when permitted by law.

When a new website chat starts, authorized Upstate Medicare team members may receive a limited email or text alert directing them to the secure team inbox. The alert is designed not to include the visitor's message text, name, phone number, email address, Medicare information, or medical information.

How submissions and chats are delivered and stored

Website form submissions are transmitted through our website-hosting and email-delivery providers and delivered to help@upstatemedicaregroup.com. The website does not currently write form submissions into Producer1 or another CRM database. A resulting email or related service record may remain in our business systems under ordinary retention practices.

Live-chat conversations and optional contact information are stored with our website database provider so authorized team members can respond from the private agent inbox. Chat records are not displayed publicly. We may remove or retain chat records under approved operational, compliance, security, and legal-retention practices.

The website may display a small recent-activity notice based only on real, non-identifying events such as a request for Medicare guidance or a newly started conversation. These notices do not display names, exact locations, message text, Medicare status, carrier or plan details, or other identifying information, and we do not fabricate activity.

When information may be shared

We may share information with service providers that help host, secure, store, maintain, measure, notify, or deliver website and communication services; with licensed insurance producers or business personnel who need the information to respond; with an insurance carrier or platform when you direct us to take an authorized application or service action; or when disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, fraud prevention, or protection of rights and safety.

We do not sell website form submissions or live-chat conversations as lead data. We also do not share a website lead or chat with an unrelated marketing organization for that organization to contact the person unless the person separately authorizes that sharing or the law otherwise permits it.

Sensitive information

Do not submit Social Security numbers, Medicare ID or MBI numbers, banking or payment information, policy or account numbers, detailed medical records, or detailed medication information through general website forms or live chat. Our chat system attempts to block several common sensitive-number patterns, but no automated filter is perfect. If sensitive information is needed for an authorized insurance transaction, we will direct you to an appropriate method or carrier platform.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to respond, provide service, maintain business and compliance records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type and applicable requirements.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information and our operations. The agent inbox is restricted, chat access tokens and team sessions are protected, and the public activity feature receives no message contents or contact information. No website, database, email system, text-message system, or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use care when deciding what to send electronically.

Your choices and requests

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you submitted through the website. We will review the request and respond as required by applicable law, subject to identity verification and any legal, regulatory, fraud-prevention, or record-retention obligations.

Children's privacy

This website is intended for adults seeking Medicare or insurance information and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13 through this website.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our website, providers, or practices change. The revised version will be posted here with an updated date.
